About Intern Index
Intern Index is a free website that tracks every open US internship it can verify, flags the ones about to open, keeps your applications in one spreadsheet, and shows the roles you have a real shot at.
Where the listings come from
Straight from company career sites, through the public job-board systems those sites use (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and others), checked again on every update; the header shows exactly when the last update ran. Public internship lists on GitHub only help us discover companies, and each lead is checked on the company's own posting before it appears. A few listings come from the public job APIs of The Muse and Himalayas: Internships also found via Himalayas. We never copy listings from LinkedIn, Indeed or Handshake.
What we don't do
No ads, no selling data, and accounts are optional (guest mode keeps everything on your device). Deadlines and other details are shown only when the posting states them; otherwise you'll see "not listed".
Contact
Spotted a wrong or closed listing? Open it and use Report an issue. Missing a company? Use I saw one elsewhere.

Privacy Policy

The short version
You can use Intern Index without an account, and then everything stays in your own browser. If you create an account, the things you choose to save are stored so they sync between your devices. We don't sell data, show ads, or use tracking cookies.
Without an account (guest mode)
Your profile, tracker, saved filters, contacts, planner settings and preferences are kept in your browser's local storage on this device only. Resume files are read on your device; the file itself is never uploaded.
With an account (optional)
- What's stored: your email address, plus the items you save on the site (profile details, tracker, saved filters and listings, contacts, templates, practice notes, planner and preferences), so they sync across devices.
- Resume text is synced only if you turn on "Also sync my resume text" in Your account. It's off by default. The original file is never uploaded.
- Where: stored with our database provider, Supabase (hosted in the United States). Database rules make sure each account can read and write only its own data.
- Sign-in emails are sent by Supabase only to sign you in. We don't send newsletters.
Usage statistics
We may count anonymous events (such as page views, saves, Apply clicks and resume uploads) to see what's used. These counts never include your name, email, resume, or what you typed, and they use no cookies or device IDs: each event is just added to a daily total. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we don't count you at all. If the site hits an error, we log a short, scrubbed error message (emails, links and long numbers are removed) so we can fix it. Error logs are deleted after 30 days. So the site's owner can see how many people are using it at once, each visit tells the server one thing: that someone is here, and which tab they are on. It is a count that expires within a day. No cookie, no identifier that outlasts the visit, and nothing about what you searched for or which internships you looked at.
Your choices
- Export my data: download everything (on My Profile, or in Your account when signed in).
- Delete account: in Your account. This deletes your account and everything stored in the cloud right away.
- Clear everything on My Profile removes the data on this device.
Reports you send
Reports, feedback and "I saw one elsewhere" are shared only when you submit them. In-site reports (Report an issue, Report a problem) are stored privately for the Intern Index team. Each one includes what you wrote and a one-way code made from your account or network address, which we use to stop spam and count distinct reporters. We never store your IP address itself. Anything posted as a public GitHub issue is public.
Children
Intern Index is meant for students looking for internships and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes and contact
We'll update this page and the date above if anything changes. For questions or deletion requests, see Contact.
Terms of Use
Draft for review, last updated October 27, 2026. This is a plain-English summary, not legal advice.
What Intern Index is
A free website that collects internship postings that employers publish publicly, links to each original posting, and offers tools (a tracker, matching, a planner) to help you apply. Using it means you agree to these terms.
Listings
- Listings come from public employer career pages and the public job-board systems those pages use. Every listing links to the employer's original posting, and that posting is the source of truth.
- We check listings often, but postings can close or change at any time. Always confirm details on the employer's site before applying.
- We're not affiliated with the employers listed, and we're not involved in their hiring decisions.
Grades and matches are estimates
Fit grades, match scores, "selective" labels and suggestions are automated estimates based on the posting and what you entered. They aren't guarantees of an interview or an offer, and they aren't career, legal or immigration advice.
Your account
Accounts are optional and free. Keep access to your email secure. Don't misuse the site: no automated bulk access, no attempts to read other people's data, and no interfering with the service. We may limit or remove accounts that do.
Takedowns and corrections
If you're an employer and want a listing corrected or removed, send a takedown request ↗ (or see Contact). We honor valid requests promptly.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is", without warranties, and we're not liable for decisions made using it, to the extent the law allows. These terms may change; the date above shows the latest version.
